Pocket Park Project
Hays WCID No. 2 has undertaken a new pocket park project that will be located on the west side of Mesa Verde Dr. in the greenspace north of Angelina Valley.

Pocket parks are intended to be smaller and are designed for use by local residents. The district envisions a crosswalk from the sidewalk on the east side of the street to the park entrance on the west side of the street. The park location is tucked back from the street and includes a trail connection to the Mockingbird Nature trail.

Ground Storage Tank Project
To address intermittent water pressure issues reported by our customers, the Districts need a way to increase pressure after water is delivered by the West Travis County Public Utility Agency (WTCPUA). After evaluating potential solutions, the Districts have elected to proceed with a ground storage water tank to be owned and operated by the Districts. The ground storage tank will provide control over water service pressure and may provide some protection against boil water notices.

Design of the 4.2 million gallon ground storage tank is currently underway and the Districts will be working with the WTCPUA on an operations plan over the next couple of months. The tank location will be on District property east of Sawyer Ranch Rd, and just north of the Fire Station. The tank will be a ground storage facility that is partially buried, not an elevated storage tank or water tower.

We appreciate the public input received at the community meeting held on September 8, 2025, and we will be providing updates to this page as the project proceeds and milestones are achieved.
